Covenant With Black America
The Covenant with Black America was developed under the guidance of Tavis Smiley, with valuable input by industry experts and African American leaders such as Dr. David Satcher, Angela Glover Blackwell, Marc Morial, Julian Bond, Marian Wright Edelman and other respected community and world leaders.
Covenant with Black America focuses on the top 10 issues of concern to African Americans and provides a blueprint on what individuals, public policymakers and corporate citizens can do to move the African American community forward, socially and economically to make America better.
Covenant In Action book was developed through a partnership between The Jamestown Project and PolicyLink to enable and inspire people to become agents of change by using the book’s toolkit that contains not only traditional action strategies, but includes innovative approaches to organizing and community building that will result in stronger, more bonded communities that are reflective of Black America’s history and past experiences.
